Northbound on I-5, take the Pershing Drive/B Street exit, follow Pershing Drive and turn left on Florida Drive, left on Zoo Place, left on Park Boulevard and right on Presidents Way. Southbound on Highway 163, take the Park Boulevard exit, turn left on Park Boulevard and left on Presidents Way. From Presidents Way, continue straight through the intersection with Pan American Road East into the lot in front of the museum.

The closest parking is the lot at Pan American Plaza (now signposted as the Palisades lot), with more lots nearby. Since January 5, 2026, parking in Balboa Park is paid from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.: lots closest to the museums cost non-residents $10 for up to four hours or $16 for the day, and meters on park roads cost $2.50 per hour.
