The USS Midway Museum is at 910 North Harbor Drive and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with last admission at 4:00 p.m. Allow at least four to five hours, and note that all bags are checked and outside food isn’t allowed.

The San Diego Museum of Art and the San Diego Automotive Museum are both in Balboa Park. The art museum is closed on Wednesdays, while the Automotive Museum is open daily, and parking in Balboa Park has been paid since January 5, 2026.

The Navy SEAL Museum is at 1001 Kettner Boulevard, across the street from Santa Fe Depot, with last admission at 4:15 p.m. The USS Midway Museum is a short walk away, so the two pair well in a day downtown.

The Whaley House is at 2476 San Diego Avenue in Old Town. The self-guided daytime tour runs from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and wheelchair access is limited to the first floor.
